Jonas came by my garage at home for race preparations. Last small barrel of VP MS 109 unleaded
gasoline was opened. I need to get more of this stuff soon! I haven't yet come to that point where I will
change to the MUCH cheaper ethanol, the E85-fuel you can find at many gas stations in Sweden!
This change of fuel will happen when the new E-intake manifold is on.

There's always time for coffee.

It's only a 10 minute easy ride from my home to this Blackrace track in downtown Gothenburg. Blower
belt is not connected on these road trips so I use regular gas.

I was glad to see so many American cars in the pit. All brands, decades and colors. Normally I would
say there are more non-american cars that take the opportunity to test at the Blackraces.

Our pit routine include to drive the SS upon my planks to be able to get the jack underneath. Then
adjustment of all shock absorbers and mounting of the blower belt and the crank support. After that
it's only to change from street gasoline to race gasoline by changing pumps and fuel tanks, this by
moving a little 12V relay and turn a couple of taps... Oboy this works so good, year after year.
Knock on wood...

It's absolutely unique to have a racetrack in the middle of a city!

YAHOO!!! First burnout of the year! It's summer again! We're burning tires 300 meter across the Göta
River from the Gothenburg Opera! So, where are the real "Miserables" playing? ;)

No traction at all! The STCC group don't want any trackbite on their nice asphalt either. The slicks spun
at any speed and I had to pedal it like the Big Boys do in the fastest classes in drag racing =) I tried to
"floor it softly" but the 60's was still in the 1.80's compared to my personal best 1.41 at Santa Pod
Raceway in the UK. First ET of 7.62 (compared to personal best 6.31) also tells the story.

The timing was inside Mårten's Citroên and operated by two young ladies. My son Axel was the
timeslip runner for me, now in a neon suit he had found that matches his ear muffs.

Blackout SS was here!

"What the hell was that!!?" Fun with first-time guests who come and ask questions after our first run.

Engine was on the rich side (tuned for higher altitude Moholmsstrippen). Amazingly how much fuel this
baby burns! Approx 10 L per round! More than 2 Gallon!

Two guys in the 8 second bracket, spinning like all of us. Mikael Hernwall took his 396 stroker 1994
Roadmaster wagon to a 8.60 @ 134 kmh / 83 mph. Not bad for the 2100 kg ledsled! That's 4630 lbs!
Henrik Börjesson in the 1992 Corvette with LT1 had a string of low 9 second runs before he managed
to break the dream barrier into the 8's with a best of 8.96 @ 131 kmh / 81 mph. Training is good!

You can see that Jonas is working all the time, here with filming. Now 7.56 @ 154 kmh / 96 mph.
Still spinning.

The return road is along the STCC track. Banner is promoting "Göteborg City race" on June 5-6.
On the other side of the Göta River you have "the lipstick" which is a wellknown part of the skyline.
Also the steel barque Viking, a big old sailing ship which now holds hotell, bars and restaurants.

Friend Lars-Inge Johansson showed up, now from Uddevalla which he once came from (before 25 years
in Stockholm) and just recently moved back to! Full circle.

And Lars-Inge had two ladies as company, Eva Larsson representing Stockholm (far right) and Sussi
Kristiansson from Uddevalla. In the background Jonas and in front Blackrace General Mårten Carlsson.

The quickest car of the evening, a Mitsubishi EVO. Far below the 7.50 break out! Rumors said he
was a Trailer Queen, but still he was quickest and fastest!

Lined up for the third and last test run.

Directed by Jonas. He wanted us two to burn and run together. And we liked it, especially Peter
Lundgren who must have spun less, and won the run in his Duster who normally breaks out with 7.4's.
I collected the worst of my times this run 7.72 @ 156 km / 97 mph. Time to go home.

Glad and Sad. Our mission this evening was mainly to find out two things: 1. Have the changes of
the headers this winter stopped the burning of the spark plug wires? 2. Have the rebuilt of the 4L80E
(last winter) resulted in that 3rd gear is back in again. Gladly we found that the answers on
both questions was YES!
Sadly I found oil drops on the asphalt underneath the ProCharger! This has never happened before! And
we also thought that the "bad sound" of the blower when turning off the engine now was REALLY bad!
And when the belt was off and I could rotate the blower by hand I felt it wasn't at all smooth inside...

Last runs to the small cars.

As mentioned before, Jonas was very active this evening. Both crew chief, mechanic and producer of
still pictures and a little film! Thanks Jonas for all functions! Click to enjoy! (Turn up the sound!)

No doubt when opening the magnetic oil plug! I'm lucky that the supercharger didn't blew up!

Bye bye, come home soon!
